Healthy Eating Tips While Traveling
Our very own, Lisa Paul-Newman is the queen of multi-tasking. This picture is a great depiction of how busy our book tour has been. No matter how busy we are, we always sleuth out the heathy food choices when we are traveling. Consistency is key to maintaining a healthy diet plan. For example, the salad Lisa is eating came from The Counter, a burger restaurant. Often times you can ask for your meals to be turned into a salad like we did. Here are some tips for finding healthy meals in an airport.
#1 Drink plenty of water so you stay hydrated. Water assists in weight loss and is often the solution to that constant desire to eat while you are traveling. Choose high quality bottled water so you know you aren’t just getting tap water in a plastic bottle. Good choices are Fiji Water, Smart Water, or Artisan water.
#2 Pack a healthy lunch or healthy snacks to supplement the food and snacks you buy on the road. Goji berries, walnuts and almonds, protein bars (Lära Bars & Rx Bars are Faves), sliced fruit, sliced veggies, Brad’s “chips” or “broccoli poppers” are easy to pack options. You can even bring a full meal in Tupperware like baked salmon and veggies if you plan on eating it right away.
#3 Drinking coffee or alcohol during your trip will dehydrate you often leaving extra lines under your eyes and making your skin appear dry. Fierce Lotus Super secret! Sometimes a girl just needs a glass of wine, therefore, we recommend bringing electrolyte tablets with you to add to your water after you are through enjoying your yummy beverages to help you regain that pre-travel glow. We wish you safe travels, Warriors!
